In the flagship branch of Bet Aful Hayarok owned by Eitam Zino (but don’t get confused with Beer Sheva’s Beit Haful Ha’adom which we’ll get to later), you’ll find an interesting twist on hummus made into a superfood with the addition of Spirulina. And the taste is excellent! But with all due respect to hummus, this time we chose to focus on the dishes containing wonderful “ful,” Egyptian style broad beans served in pita together with a long list of extras, including aubergine fried in a coating from a secret recipe, and chips also fried in a secret coating of a different kind.

Ful served in this portion is velvety smooth and once it goes into a fresh hot pita, along with the extras we mentioned earlier, every bite is no less than perfection, integrating textures and flavors that stay with you a good long while later. Half pita portion is NIS. 12, whole pita is NIS. 23.

There’s more you can gobble down there: green falafel with a strong mix of herbs and hummus which you can order in pita together with the many, many extras at the stand, or in a cone (NIS. 6) with a generous splash of super delicious turmeric tehina on top.
